The ILO Staff Union is pleased to invite you to a performance of the play “ITTER 43-45”, the story of Léon Jouhaux, a trade unionist and Nobel Prize winner who was a central figure in international trade unionism and a major player in the ILO from 1919 until his death in 1954.
The performance will take place on Thursday, 27 November at 1.30 p.m. in the ILO cinema, R2 south
The play will be performed in French, but an English translation is available on request.
This play is of historical importance to the ILO, as it highlights the life of Léon Jouhaux. It recounts his imprisonment during the Second World War, his anti-fascist actions at the International Labour Conference in the 1930s, and his journey to winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 1951.
His wife, who headed the ILO Office in Paris for nearly two decades, also played a key role in the history of the Organization, making them both prominent figures at the ILO.

La représentation aura lieu le jeudi 27 novembre à 13h30, dans la salle de cinéma du BIT, R2 sud. La pièce sera jouée en français, mais une traduction en anglais est disponible sur demande.
Son épouse, qui a dirigé le bureau de l’OIT à Paris pendant près de deux décennies, a également joué un rôle essentiel dans l’histoire de l’Organisation, faisant d’eux des personnalités marquantes de l’OIT.
